WHAT WE’VE HEARD

Life in Squamish is getting harder.

The affordability crisis is forcing families to make impossible choices.

Our growth has outpaced essential infrastructure and amenities.

Residents don’t feel heard or meaningfully included in District decision-making.

And more and more people feel squeezed out of the town they love.

Squamish deserves better.

OUR VISION

Squamish deserves leadership that puts residents first and makes Squamish stronger, now and long into the future. We’re building a Squamish that is:

Affordable

Our biggest priority is making Squamish more affordable for the people who live here. We will:

  • Create housing that locals can actually afford

  • Freeze property taxes for 2027

  • Improve transit with an express bus to downtown

Accessible

Amenities and infrastructure need to keep up with the growing needs of our community. We will:

  • Create a free splash park

  • Add a fitness center and indoor playground to Brennan Park

  • Improve road access to downtown

  • Ensure that big businesses that thrive here help pay for growth

Accountable

The job of local government is to meet the needs of the community. We will:

  • Use authentic community engagement to understand what the community needs

  • Set District priorities based on what we hear

  • Hold ourselves, staff, and partners accountable for achieving outcomes

Now And For Generations To Come

Our decisions don’t just affect Squamish’s residents today. We’ll make social and environmental decisions that benefit our children and their children. We will:

  • Uphold our commitments to protect the unique ecosystems of Squamish

  • Install air monitoring to ensure industry is complying with environmental regulations
