WHAT WE’VE HEARD

Life in Squamish is getting harder.

The affordability crisis is forcing families to make impossible choices.

Our growth has outpaced essential infrastructure and amenities.

Residents don’t feel heard or meaningfully included in District decision-making.

And more and more people feel squeezed out of the town they love.

Squamish deserves better.

OUR VISION

Squamish deserves leadership that puts residents first and makes Squamish stronger, now and long into the future. We’re building a Squamish with:

Affordable Living

Affordability is our biggest priority. We will:

  • Create housing that locals can afford throughout their lives

  • Invest in modernized transport that meets our diverse needs

  • Freeze property taxes for 2027

  • Spend your dollars transparently and thoughtfully to deliver real results

Accessible Amenities

Amenities and infrastructure need to keep up with our growing community. We will:

  • Get seniors and families the care and services they need, close to home

  • Create new accessible recreation: a splash park, indoor playground, and fitness centre

  • Put people - not paperwork - at the centre of every public service

  • Support local businesses to thrive as they contribute to a vibrant community

Accountable Leadership

The job of local government is to meet the needs of the community. We will:

  • Engage authentically with residents to understand community needs

  • Take a common-sense, action-oriented approach to getting things done: and hold ourselves accountable

  • Ensure big business and industry fairly and transparently contribute to our community

  • Push provincial and federal governments to deliver for Squamish, securing our fair share of funding and support

Now And For Generations To Come

Our decisions don’t just affect Squamish’s residents today - they’ll shape the community our children and grandchildren will inherit. We will:

  • Balance growth with what our environment can sustain, so future development serves both people and the planet

  • Leverage our land and resources for our shared long-term benefit, not short-term profit

  • Preserve and protect access to trails and recreation for every Squamish resident

  • Install environmental monitoring to hold industry accountable and protect our environment for the future
